While we designed the SleepSmart pillow for the side sleeper that need the extra support, back sleepers have told us that it is very comfortable. However, if you specifically like very thin pillows, then this may not be the best solution for you.
This pillow has a top and bottom, but the pillow can be rotated so the squeeze valve is on the left side or the right side. You could flip it if you want to not sleep on the comfort layer :-)
Great question! If you are not doing sound monitoring - the pillow doesn’t really need the phone. You can put the phone in the other room or turn it off if needed - the pillow will still collect data and send to phone when it has a chance. The pillow can track up to 6 days without needing to sync with the phone.
No. The pillow does not transmit while you are sleeping. It only communicates with the phone, to transfer the alarm time, to send data from the pillow when requested from the app.
The cover for the SleepSmart Pillow is removable and machine washable.
The pillow is not considered water resistant and while the electronics are sealed, they could be damaged if exposed to a lot of water.
It is designed to fit in your standard size pillow case and is considered a standard pillow size. The shipping dimensions are 14” x 26” x 5” tall, while the height can adjust up to 8” max and as low as 3” without your head on the pillow. Head on support height depends on the softness of your bed and how heavy your head is :-)
Where is your product made? If abroad, what steps have you taken to ensure ethical manufacturing practices?
SleepSmart is designed in Los Angeles, CA, USA, and sourced both abroad and in the United States. Our partner selection criteria includes working with trusted manufacturing partners who abide by strict labor laws. Additionally we do routine onsite audits to ensure all aspects of our agreements are abided by.
Our goal is for you to have a pillow under your head by this summer. At this point we’ve completed the design revisions, established the manufacturers, run pre-production samples on all of the components. Our commitment is to deliver to you the highest quality, most amazing pillow you’ve ever owned. If this takes additional time, we will be realistic and open with our communications and updates. We are here for you.
While we’ve not drop tested it off of a 10 story building, we have gone through the process of ensuring that the pillow is robust against every day at home useage - including the occasional toss on the floor when laundry day comes.
If you were to have a pillow fight with a wall and slammed the inflation end of the pillow into said wall - like any piece of electronics - the wall might win.
The pillow is powered by 4 AA batteries. Right now that lasts for 8 months of tracking time. Depending on how often you use the Cloud Support system, the length of time the batteries last will vary. Our goal for production is to extend this as long as possible. We have our eyes set on one year, once we fully optimize the power management system. The battery pack slips into a padded compartment right under the squeeze valve.
We want you to love this pillow and we’ve spent the time to ensure that you will. In the event that SleepSmart is just not for you, we will stand by a 100 night no questions asked return policy. All we ask in return is you tell us why it didn’t meet your needs - so we can make sure the next one does!
